I’m excited to share details about the upcoming Literature Seminar: Introduction to Sociology for first-year students in the Management of Social Innovations program at the Department of Applied Social Sciences, Hochschule München/University of Applied Sciences, for the Winter Term 2024/25.
In this seminar, we’ll delve into both classical sociological theories—including foundational thinkers like Marx, Weber, and Durkheim—as well as contemporary perspectives that address today’s complex social issues. By examining these key texts and ideas, students will gain the analytical tools necessary to understand and critique how social structures and institutions shape innovation and change within society.
This mix of historical and present sociological thought is crucial for students aiming to develop strategies for effective social innovation. I look forward to an engaging semester full of lively discussions!
